Serious Cabaret
Mary’s Serious Cabaret programmes investigate composers’ flirtations with cabaret and jazz from the classic hits of Gershwin, Coward and Bernstein, cabaret and art songs by the likes of Schoenberg, Britten and Poulenc, the contemporary outlook of Adès, Bolcolm and Muldowney to the songs from the Berlin cabarets of the 1920s by Weill, Waxman and Hollaender. With her pianist Philip Mayers, Mary brings her exceptional talent to prestigious European venues such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, The Theatre du Châtelet in Paris, the Wigmore Hall in London, the Ulster Concert Hall and the Louisiana Museum in Denmark as well as festivals in Spain, Greece and the UK. |
