Even though I have performed the James Bond themes many, many times I always like to revisit the original recordings and remind myself what it is that made each song special - why it was chosen to be the theme for one of the biggest movie franchises around. Often there is something in the way the original artist has phrased the words or a little ad lib that is quirky and exciting - and whilst I never aim to do a karaoke performance it's hinting at those little nuances that help the audience to connect my version with that of the greats like Bassey, Gladys Knight, Tina Turner or Adele. They are all such fabulous songs to sing - a dream gig to do them all in one night! Looking forward to Saturday 26th June and performing at Blenheim Palace - hopefully in the evening sun!
